Given the professional profile of this specialist, he can be incorporated into any of the levels of care in the Costa Rican Health System, both in the direct care of the population, in their own communities, as part of a support team for the EBAIS, in the health areas and hospitals in direct care or as a link with the communities.
It should be noted that our Health system is made up of more than 1040 Basic Health Care Teams (EBAIS), 103 Health Areas and 29 Hospitals, where in all of them the presence of Specialists in Family and Community Medicine is essential.
They can also work at a private level, providing more comprehensive and continuous medical care, which allows them to care for families during their different stages of life.
